Terms of Service
Draft for legal review before launch. Last updated: October 2026.
1. The service
Kestrel provides curriculum-mapped practice and progress tracking for learners from Reception to Year 11. Content is aligned to the National Curriculum in England, the EYFS framework and common GCSE content, and is updated as those frameworks change. Kestrel supplements, and does not replace, school teaching.
2. Accounts
You must be 18 or over and the parent or legal carer of any learner you add. You are responsible for the accuracy of learner details and for supervising use by younger children.
3. Plans and payment
The Starter plan is free. Kestrel Plus is a subscription billed monthly or annually through Stripe. New Plus subscriptions include a 14-day free trial; you will not be charged if you cancel before the trial ends. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from Settings; access continues until the end of the paid period. Prices include VAT where applicable. Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations you have a 14-day right to cancel and receive a refund of any amount paid for the unused portion.
4. Fair use
One family account is for the learners of one household (up to five on Plus). Accounts may not be shared, resold or used by schools without a Schools agreement.
5. Content and intellectual property
Kestrel's questions, explanations, software and design are owned by Kestrel or its licensors. Curriculum references are to publicly available government frameworks. You may not copy, scrape or redistribute content.
6. Accuracy
We check content carefully but cannot guarantee it is free of errors. Please report any issue through the app; corrections are released in content updates.
7. Availability and changes
We aim for continuous availability but do not guarantee it. We may change features, prices (with at least 30 days' notice for existing subscribers) or these terms. Material changes will be notified by email.
8. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death, personal injury or fraud. Otherwise our liability is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim. Kestrel is not responsible for exam outcomes.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Contact: hello@kestrellearning.co.uk.
